![]() ![]() ![]() Now Ubisoft has released the series' third game, Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party, at a time when the genre has grown bloated and stagnant. The original Rayman Raving Rabbids was released at the forefront of this trend, successfully stringing together a collection of absurd challenges that relied on simple motion controls and an offbeat sense of humor to create a fresh and oddly compelling overall package. Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party will be released on November 18.In two short years, the Wii minigame genre has gone from relatively novel concept to full-blown phenomenon. There are plenty of games to cover in TV Party, so stay tuned for more silly rabbid minigames next week. Rabbids who get squished stand outside the ring but can still hit you with the plunger, so beware. The goal is to not get squashed, so you'll want to avoid the shadows of the wrestlers and try to prod the others into the unsafe zone. Large, beefy wrestlers also jump into the fray, so you'll have to dodge them while lunging at your opponents with your toilet tool. Points accumulate as you stay in the ring and try to push your opponents. You wiggle the Wii Remote to poke the other rabbids and use the analog stick to move around. The best of the three is Rabbid Wrestling, where you try to push rabbids around with a plunger in a wrestling ring. Stay away from the guys who are large and in charge. It's a relatively simple game that can get a little hectic, but because you take turns playing, it's not as fun as some of the others. When you're on the balance board, it seems that the strange orange concoction you're spraying isn't as accurate, because the weeds end up completely out of control in a short amount of time-but you gain points for trying. This one is easier to play with the Wii Remote, where you just aim left and right and tilt it up and down for distance. You stand on the balance board and lean left and right to aim the hose, and tilt forward and backward for the angle. The Garden of Weeden is a minigame in which you can use the Wii Balance board to pour weed killer on overgrown vegetation. ![]() At least, that's what we assume the buzzing means, since sometimes it buzzes even when we feel like we got the moves right. The instructions fly by from right to left, and an indicator at the end of the screen lets you know if you're on beat or not-and if you're not, your Wii Remote will buzz. The rabbids at the bottom of the screen provide visual feedback, so if one of them is snoozing, that's generally not a good sign. The higher the difficulty, the more moves you'll have to bust out, and you can play against friends to see who can put on the best show. It would've been funny if the rabbids were the ones giving the commands, but the stickman does make it easy to see where your arms need to be positioned. Instructions will show up on the top screen, where a stickman demonstrates the appropriate move. Similar to last week's Trick Me, Dancing with Dweebs: Jungle Boogie has you waving that Wii Remote and Nunchuk in the air to the beat. Judge #3 is unimpressed by your dance moves. Be sure to have some friends on call, because up to four players can take turns or play together in TV Party, and party games aren't meant to be played alone. These hyperactive, overly caffeinated rabbids have hijacked the airwaves, so it's nonstop wackiness each day of the week. We had the opportunity to share three of these with you last week, and this week we get to unveil another three crazy rabbid games: Jungle Boogie, the Garden of Weeden, and Rabbid Wrestling. The fun never stops with Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party, which offers more than 50 minigames for you to shake your booty and Wii Remote at. ![]()
